Symptoms
One major cause of depression is social anxiety, which is a feeling of fear and worry on certain social situations, as what the World Psychiatric Association has determine. A good number of social anxiety sufferers also acquire depression of severe stages. In cases wherein a person suffers both social anxiety and depression at the same time, it is ideal to first try to the depression problem treated, since its presence discourages any kind of improvement when the social anxiety problem is the first to be treated. Remember that depression is characterized by a feeling of hopelessness, and so the much needed motivation required for someone suffering from social anxiety is virtually non-existent.
Symptoms of depression roots basically on two basic feelings that humans experience. Severe hopelessness and sadness. These two negative emotions are depicted by all the actions and behaviours exhibited by sufferers of depression. Apart from these emotions, difficulty of sleeping and its opposite extreme are also signs of depression, as well as restlessness or being unusually weak.
